The Hales Candid Family Session
If you have never been to visit Cade's Cove in the fall you are missing out. It was my first time there for the Hales family session and I was in awe the entire time. As I drove to the spot we were doing the photos, I couldn't help but grab my film camera out of my bag and stop to snap a picture (which is the picture above). To be honest I wasn't expecting to love it as much as I did, but since I went I can't stop thinking about going back! Next time I will definitely be taking more film and spending the whole day there!
Ok I could ramble on about how beautiful the scenery is all day but let's get to the REALLY good stuff, the Hales. Courtney and I met through a Facebook group. She had posted that she would be in the Gatlinburg area and was looking for a photographer to shoot a session at Cade's Cove for them. Honestly I usually don't comment on those posts but when I read she wanted them at Cade's Cove I had to shoot my shot. I had been looking for a reason to visit and a photo session gave me the perfect excuse.
I love a family session that has little posing and lots of candid/genuine moments which is exactly how the Hales session was. With a toddler that actually makes it easier on the parents. If there is a pressure on the family to get the perfect posed photo it creates a sense of stiffness. Children can be very hard to photograph if you are constantly trying to make them sit still. If you can make it fun for a family I promise the pictures will come out better and everyone will leave happy!
